An accredited certificate course on Human Rights and Governance Course took place from 25 to 29 June, 2017. The course aims at imparting professionalism in Human rights and Governance work for optimum benefits. It will provide participants with the knowledge and the competences required to protect and promote human rights in multi-level governance contexts, locally and internationally. Participants develop the capabilities and skills necessary to analyse, assess and manage complex political and socio-economic phenomena and their impact on the fundamental rights of all persons, mainly the most vulnerable ones. The course targets Staff of international and national NGOs, as well as Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations working in the fields of development, human rights, stabilization and recovery, conflict resolution, confidence and security building measures, democratization, and social empowerment, gender and peacebuilding.
HIPSIR is organizing a Public Forum themed "Citizen participation - reality check" to be held on 23 June, 2017 at 2:00 – 4:30 pm. The forum is part of HIPSIR public fora series that are periodically convened with the aim of informing policy and practice in respective sectors. This event aims at interrogating and analyzing the role and place of key stakeholders in relation to elections and the preparedness of Kenyans towards the forthcoming August general elections.
