Message from the Director of HIPSIR

Hekima Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations (HIPSIR) is marking its 10th Anniversary this academic year 2013-2014. The culmination of the 10th Anniversary celebration will be at the upcoming international conference on 8-9 October 2014 under the theme: Transitional Justice in Post-Conflict Societies in Africa. Former president of Tanzania, His Excellency Benjamin Mkapa, will be the Guest of Honour. The second Guest of Honour will be Mr. Erastus Mwencha, the Deputy Chair of the African Union (AU) Commission. The presentations at the conference will form part of the of articles for the first HIPSIR journal Africa Peace Studies Journal which we hope to launch at the conference.  I would like to encourage you to present a paper at this conference or to register as a participant.

HIPSIR recently launched certificate courses in conflict analysis, transitional justice, leadership and management, peacebuilding, preventive diplomacy, conflict resolution in work places, Catholic Social Teaching, etc.  If you are interesting in taking any of these courses please contact us.

If you are a HIPSIR alumnus, please fill in the update form to let us know what you are currently doing. We will be happy to hear from you.  This website is user friendly and interactive. You will find a lot of information here. Please take your time to explore and send us your opinions and suggestions.
